This is a message for Matthew Doyle as Secretary. I’ve contacted LPIS a couple of months ago re delegates to Liverpool Riverside CLP. I’m a member of LPIS and also the Secretary of Riverside CLP: I know LPIS are affiliated to our CLP and last year sent one delegate (who never attended a single CLP meeting). I asked if we could ask our LPIS members in Riverside to put themselves forward if they wanted to be a delegate and then, if needs be, we would organize an election. I’ve had no response, so can I assume that Riverside CLP can just ask for nominations of LPIS member? It would be a real shame – especially with Liverpool trying to set up an LPIS group – if the only delegate CLP had no LPIS voice within it. If I don’t hear from you, I will assume it is OK to ask for nominations – we need to do this soon as our AGM is on 7th June. I’d be really grateful if someone could get back to me asap on this. Many thanks for your help. Cate

So. I am Secretary of my CLP (Washington and Sunderland West) and a distant member of LPIS. Last year the LPIS affiliated to us. Haven’t heard anything this year.

I don’t know if any other members of our CLP have taken out LPIS membership – I’d be glad to register them as a delegate to the GMC if arranged. I’d also be interested to hear if there was any progress made on the suggested local LPIS groups.

I have not received a refund for my membership fee which has been taken twice. I wish to receive the refund. I have not received any details of the AGM or confirmation that I can attend. I think there should be a contact phone number so that members can phone and get matters resolved easily.

    7th January 20I 9

I would like to stand for LGBT officer at the AGM January 21st 2019

My name is Deirdre Malynn and I am a member of South Hackney & Shoreditch.

I am having trouble with the website, probably due to the hack, there appears to be no information about AGM or agenda and no information as to procedure and previous committee reports. Also, please confirm receipt of this contact and person and correct email for more information.

    Thank You

    Hi,

I joined LPIS on 16th November and have not been sent an invitation to the AGM. I want to attend the AGM so can you send me all the details please as I am a fully paid up member,

I am worried because all the emails below are concerned with people joining, not hearing anything from the Society.

    Thanking you,

    Laura Sullivan

    Hi,

My wife and I are both Labour Party members and are trying to join the Irish Society. However, when we try and pay on line we are both blocked and a message is displayed saying “account restricted.” Is there any way round this?

    Dear London Irish Society

My name is Charlotte Norton. I currently live in London, but I am originally from Northern Ireland. I am an active member of the Labour party in London, and a lawyer in my professional life.

I’m extremely concerned about the ignorance about the Northern Irish border, being from Northern Ireland myself. I have done some research into the external EU border around Poland and I can see that there is clearly opportunity for creative solutions.

I wrote an article about this a few months ago which sets out my main idea. I’m not saying it will work perfectly, but it just seems to me that it is an obvious point that no one is thinking about. I’ve reached out to some MPs, but to little avail so far. I’d appreciate if you could have a look at my idea, and if it is something that you think the Labour Irish society could get behind, I’d love to raise awareness of the idea.
