Hi. I would like some information about joining the labour party Irish Society.

So. I am Secretary of my CLP (Washington and Sunderland West) and a distant member of LPIS. Last year the LPIS affiliated to us. Haven’t heard anything this year.


I don’t know if any other members of our CLP have taken out LPIS membership – I’d be glad to register them as a delegate to the GMC if arranged. I’d also be interested to hear if there was any progress made on the suggested local LPIS groups.

I would like to know if I can attend the Labour Party Irish Society AGM on Monday, 21st January 2019.

I have not received a refund for my membership fee which has been taken twice. I wish to receive the refund. I have not received any details of the AGM or confirmation that I can attend. I think there should be a contact phone number so that members can phone and get matters resolved easily.

I know the AGM is next week andI have sent various emails requesting details of localtion and time of the meeting. I would like to attend can you please forward details. Some time ago I applied for membership of this party and I believe that I was accepted. My wife and I are both Labour Party members and are trying to join the Irish Society. However, when we try and pay on line we are both blocked and a message is displayed saying “account restricted.” Is there any way round this?

Tried to join but cannot get beyond a message saying ‘account restricted’. What does it mean?

My name is Charlotte Norton. I currently live in London, but I am originally from Northern Ireland. I am an active member of the Labour party in London, and a lawyer in my professional life.


I’m extremely concerned about the ignorance about the Northern Irish border, being from Northern Ireland myself. I have done some research into the external EU border around Poland and I can see that there is clearly opportunity for creative solutions.


I wrote an article about this a few months ago which sets out my main idea. I’m not saying it will work perfectly, but it just seems to me that it is an obvious point that no one is thinking about. I’ve reached out to some MPs, but to little avail so far. I’d appreciate if you could have a look at my idea, and if it is something that you think the Labour Irish society could get behind, I’d love to raise awareness of the idea.
